Ryan's second family, the Bowen's invited us out to their house in the country for the fourth. We missed seeing Clinton who is living in Pennsylvania while his wife gets her doctorate degree, but we enjoyed visiting with the rest of the family. Clinton and Daniel are like brothers to Ryan. Ryan grew up partially at the Bowen's and went on vacations with them and to the lake and camping, etc... Ryan is pictured here with Daniel.

Daniel has a swimming pool and a hydraulic lift that Ron and a neighbor built to help lift him into the pool. It is pretty cool and the other kids like using it too.

As you can see, there are lots of creepies that live in the country like this tarantula and king snake. Oh, when we first saw the snake, we thought it was dead with its head cut off, but then we realized that it was in the process of eating some creature. I felt pretty safe getting this picture since his mouth was too full to bite me.

In the past, their yard has been plagued by wild hogs, armadillos, and skunks too. It's nice to visit the country, but I kinda like city life... a lot less critters to deal with!
