I took this picture of Times Square in NYC when we were visiting there in October 2009. I love the reflections of the lights on the wet pavement. It was taken on the night that we saw Wicked on Broadway and it was the only day it rained while we were there. Check out Newtown Area Photos website where they are asking for bloggers to post a picture showing a reflection. I love this picture and I have made it the desktop photo on my computer.

Garry's 50th
Garry didn't want much hoopla for his birthday, but did we listen to his wishes? Nah! Why let little brother try to tell us what to do? We ate at Salt and Pepper. The food was good and Maurine made her famous Italian Cream Cake which was yummy! The saxophone player serenaded Garry with Happy Birthday, while Royce, our waiter led us in the singing.

Five Finger Shoes

Kara and Joey have these Vibram five finger shoes. I think they look very strange, but they say it feels like you are barefoot when you wear them. I have been shopping with Kara when she wears hers and she does get lots of strange looks.Local Legend
For an interesting read, try this article in today's paper. Charlye Farris and her mother were patients were I worked. Very nice people. She was the first black woman licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and the first woman to practice law in Wichita County. You can read about her here. You will find out how the prejudices of the times affected her life and how she helped to change them.

I love....
Bubbles: bubble gum, bubble wrap, bubble bath. Pulling weeds~it's good therapy. Angels. Quotes. Blogging. Dishwashers. Chocolate. Reese's peanut butter cups. Rainbows, butterflies, frogs, hummingbirds. Wading in the street after the rain. Relaxing in my hammock. Honey butter. Cookies. Pies. Sweets in general. My husband who spoils me and my kids who make me so proud~ My five siblings who share my wonderful memories of growing up in a loving home with the best parents. Trees, their strength, their shade, their beauty. Books: they let me experience so many things and meet so many interesting characters~Family history: "How do we know where we are going, if we don't know where we came from?" Sleep: ( I am rather put out by my body telling me that as I age, it doesn't require as much...) I love to cocoon in bed and read a good book. Bargains: especially 75% off racks. Shopping in general. Mexican food. Smiles. Laughter. Comfy shoes. Scalp massages by my awesome hairstylist! ;) Baking. Hanging out with my girlfriends. Family gatherings. Playing games ~ especially Scrabble. Thunderstorms. Birthdays. Watching it snow. Old hymns. Scripture promises. Jesus Christ: Who makes everything possible. Life in general. Now specifically!
What do you love? I couldn't sleep last night- my mind just won't shut off sometimes. So I started listing things I loved. It's is really better than counting sheep!

Rock on!
:[ Mathis Bros. delivered the right chair to us today. It doesn't look as marshmellowy as a lot of recliners! I think it is a keeper!

Ahhhh Alert!
My niece Leslie posted this picture of her and Eric's little ones. (They are Tim's grandkids) Isn't it just adorable? Pictured are: Andrew, Sarah, and Owen. I am so lucky to have so many great nieces and nephews, too bad most of them live far away! When I hinted to my kids that I wanted to be a grandmother some day, Ryan gave me a dose of my own medicine and told me to enjoy the "now". My motto of "celebrating the temporary" came right back to me! Funny how our advice seems to boomerang!
