Creed's 1st birthday

The birthday boy with Dad and Mom
Creed seeing his firetruck for the first time.

Is the best way to open a present to stand on top of it?

It's race time~

Family story time

Creed and I had a great birthday. We went out to eat and then came home and opened up Creed's gifts from GiGi and Grandpa. (His party with his friends is next weekend.)  He wasn't sure what to make of the firetruck at first but he decided it was pretty cool. When he first opened up Bigsby the Monster, he cried for a split second and then kissed him.

Bigsby is a stuffed character that responds to certain phrases in the book as you read it out loud. It is pretty cute.  Kara and Joey left Creed's toys here to pick up another day.  As I was getting into bed, I heard a voice in the house and it scared the beejeebees out of me~ Mike even woke up. Then I realized that I forgot to turn off Bigsby.    It did freak me out somewhat~

This boy has brought such joy to our family.

Creed has had a lot of company today. The little Brown family is so cute! Joey is such a great dad. Kara has yet to change a diaper or swaddle Creed. She will get her turn soon when Joey goes back to work.  Creed is so small, he doesn't fit in many of his newborn clothes. We had to buy him some preemie outfits.

Ryan & Sarah

Ryan and Sarah are in town for a friend's engagement party. We are so glad to have some time to spend with them as we don't get to see them very often.

All 24 of us, but where is Maurine hiding? Jared left before pics.
It is such a rarity when all six of us kids can get together. Three at a time maybe, four at a time- sometimes, five even at times, but six in one place? Well, that is a pretty rare occurrence.

Tim and Rhonda were in Texas to met their new grandson Luke, so they drove up from Waco to come to our Memorial Day gathering. Maurine, with her special talent for guilt trips, (not unlike a Jewish mother), convinced Janice and Kenny to make the trip from San Antonio.

Joe and Joyce hosted us at Capron's Cove and the food spread was amazing. Maurine's lemon meringue pie (a special incentive for Kenny) was a treat for all who made it to the dessert table in time before it magically disappeared. Janice brought a famous apple pie from Tootie's pie company in Boerne.  We had cookies, cakes and snacks galore. Everyone enjoyed the grilled chicken, sausage and shrimp as well.
