Heavy on cuteness

Paula sent me this picture, "best use of a salad bowl". Isn't Gus adorable! Visit her website and you can view more of Paula's awesome talent. www.paulalovelacephotography.com As Paula's agent, I must recommend a shorter web address. :)

Sightings

1. A duck flying sideways? It was a little windy, but most of the ducks were flying straight!
2. A hummingbird chasing a blackbird! (must have been threatening its nest?)
3. Shooting stars
4. Milky way
5. Multiple constellations
4. Flocks and flocks of ducks going from Lake Wichita to Sikes Lake.
5. Egrets flying at night look like ghost birds or UFOs against the darkened skies (up at 5 am. this morning because sleep eluded me, so I enjoyed the calm of the peaceful morning)
6. Locusts
7. Mosquitoes, yuk! ouch! slap!
*&!@(&$#@
8. Clouds, in all shapes, my imagination runs wild.

All above from the comfort of my hammock! All enjoyable except for #7!
Thanks kids, I love my hammock, one of my favorite gifts ever!

Dilemma

I love free stuff!, so I am a frequent patron of the local library. I have five, four star or better rated books, according to Amazon.com. The question is which one to read first? I usually go to Amazon to see which ones have the higher rating as I don't like to waste my time on a boring book. I have been known to read over 200 pages and then give up on a book. I am reading for my pleasure, so why waste time on blah books?
The library now has it set up where it will pull the books from the shelf for you and put on hold as well save them if you are on a waiting list. I love this service. It is really better than a bookstore as I scout around on line for the best books to reserve and they are waiting for me to pick up. You can even reserve books that are new releases and many times I am the first to get them. The best part is that I am in and out of the library in a hurry and on to reading!

Is it possible for the rose to say, "I will give my fragrance to the good people who smell me, but I will withhold it from the bad?" Or is it possible for the lamp to say, "I will give my light to the good people in this room, but I will withhold it from the evil people"? Or can a tree say, "I'll give my shade to the good people who rest under me, but I will withhold it from the bad"? These are images of what love is about. -- Anthony De Mello

The universe is one great kindergarten. Everything that exists has brought with it its own peculiar lesson. The mountain teaches stability and grandeur; the ocean immensity and change. Forests, lakes, and rivers, clouds and winds, stars and flowers, stupendous glaciers and crystal snowflakes every form of animate or inanimate existence, leaves its impress upon our soul. Pizza and Pout

We meet up with little Brayden for pizza today with Kay, Diann, and Nikki. Brayden wasn't still long enough to get any good pictures but he loves to make this pouty face.

How much wood...

....would a woodpecker peck if a woodpecker could peck wood.? I never knew there was a whole song.
This pecan tree is in Mike's parent's backyard.

Ring me!

We have been cell phone shopping as our contract expired today. We have looked everywhere, Sam's Club, Best Buy, the Sprint Store, Radio Shack in the mall, etc... Today after going all around again, we ended up at the Radio Shack on the main drag. Julius helped us and he was one of the nicest guys ever. He not only was very knowledgeable, but he saved us money too. We get a better discount since I work at a hospital than Mike's company discount. We get 23% off our bill! And he had us sign up for a Radio Shack card to give us an extra discount to which we immediately transferred to our debit card. It doesn't affect your bill where you buy your phone as long as it is from an authorized Sprint dealer.
