Butterscotch Pie

At our church reunion, Janice was talking to Berna Dean and Berna Dean told her that she had just made Mom's Butterscotch Pie. When Janice told me, I went to Berna Dean to get the recipe as Maurine had recently told me that she wished she had that recipe.

Here it is:

Butterscotch Pie

1 cup water
1 cup milk
2 small cans milk
1 cup brown sugar, packed
4 T. cornstarch
1/2 stick butter
3 egg yolks
Cook till thick. Add 2 tsp vanilla.

Berna Dean adds 1 tsp of maple flavor to make the butterscotch flavor stronger, but Mom's was yummy without that.
